Space and Time in the Landscape

A garden cannot exist on plants alone; even in nature there are anchoring elements: rock outcroppings…..a creek bed. Having a “framework” is essential – the backbone of the garden, these being elements such as: borders, walls; screens; fountains; pergolas at so on. This is SPACE.

The TIME aspect is multidimensional: the 4 seasons, and, the course of time itself. This garden area demonstrates both SPACE and TIME; the plantings have beauty all year long and are anchored by a simple modern architectural fence.

Tiered arrangement of Sedums and Ornamental Grasses have winter beauty!
